Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resources

These resources are tailored to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people. The collection includes conversation guides, activities, talking cards, videos and more to help you yarn with kids and young people – and those around them – about bodies, consent, dating, relationships, tech use and what's okay and what's not. It covers yarning with little ones, big ones and teens and will keep growing as more resources become available. Most resources are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led or developed in consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Respond

If you’re worried your child has displayed problematic sexual behaviour or their behaviour has harmed themselves or others, it’s important to know that help is available. If your child has told you they’ve been harmed or that they’ve hurt someone else, let them know they’ve done the right thing by telling you and let them talk. Sometimes parents and carers are directly affected by a child's sexual behaviour, or are supporting multiple children when harm has occurred within a family. These situations can be upsetting, confusing and emotionally demanding. Support is available for everyone affected, including parents and carers, and you do not need to navigate these concerns alone The resources in this collection can help you get started to support your child. Additional support services – including for parents and carers themselves are also available.
